1. Privacy summary
The current design follows an on-device-first principle: MaciWatch requires no website account, ships no ads, loads no third-party web analytics, and builds no user profiles for personalized advertising.
App preferences, face settings, and local playback information live primarily on your Mac. The developer does not normally receive this data.
2. Website information
The website is served by GitHub Pages and its content delivery infrastructure. When you visit, your browser automatically sends technical information to the server, such as your IP address, request time, browser type, language, and referrer.
The hosting provider uses this information for security, abuse prevention, and page delivery. This site currently loads no third-party analytics scripts and collects no email addresses through form databases.
The beta request form opens your email client. Message content only reaches us after you deliberately send the email.
3. App data
The app stores the configuration it needs on your Mac, such as window position, face selection, music preferences, display mode, and license status.
Local music features read only the content or folders you explicitly choose, for playback, queues, and cover art. This information is not sent to the developer unless you deliberately export it, take a screenshot, or send a problem report.
4. System permissions
macOS may request permissions for media playback, file access, notifications, or other capabilities. Permissions are granted by the system, and you can revoke them anytime in System Settings.
Revoking a permission may disable the related feature, but it never affects the software's basic timekeeping.
5. Third-party music services
When you connect a third-party music platform, sign-in, authentication, playlists, recommendations, playback, and billing happen between you, that platform, and its APIs.
How a platform handles accounts and data is governed by its own privacy policy. MaciWatch processes data returned by those APIs only as needed to provide the feature — for example playlist names, track details, cover art, or playback state.
6. Email communications
If you contact us by email, we use your address, message content, and related records to answer questions, handle licensing requests, or provide support.
We never sell email addresses, and we never add you to marketing lists without your consent.
7. Retention & deletion
Email correspondence and licensing records are kept only as long as needed for their purpose, to meet obligations, or to resolve disputes.
On-device app data lives on your machine. You can remove it by uninstalling the app or deleting the related configuration; exact system paths vary by version and macOS settings.
8. Your rights
Depending on your local laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data, to object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a regulator.
Where applicable law requires identity verification, we will ask for the minimum information needed and avoid collecting anything extra.
9. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we hold.
No internet transmission or piece of software can be guaranteed fully secure. Please keep your system and the app up to date.
10. Minors
MaciWatch is not a product designed for children. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.
11. Policy changes
We may update this policy as features, hosting, or legal requirements change, and we will update the date on this page.
Changes that introduce new data handling or have a material impact will be announced appropriately on the website or in the app.
